From the LBC to the desert, Mando Fresko catches up with Sublime's new lead singer, Jakob Nowell, before taking one of the year's biggest stage, Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
Performing publicly for the first time in 28 years since his dad Bradley Nowell fronted the band, Sublime took over Coachella's Main Stage to perform the ska-punk band's legendary hits.
"I am confident that at the very least if you come out to the show, I think you're gonna have a pretty killer time with us," Jakob shares, "We have a lot of fun out there on stage."
Performing with Bradley's custom brown guitar and Mesa Boogie amp, Jakob sang our favorite hits, including "Santeria", "Badfish", and "What I Got" with hauntingly similar vocals to that of his father. Fans at the festival and on the couch streaming the weekend's performance got to relive the magic and sing along to the iconic lyrics.
