MANDO FRESKO SETS ‘LIFE AFTER RADIO’ DOCUMENTARY CHRONICLING HIS REINVENTION BEYOND THE AIRWAVES

At the center of Life After Radio is Mando Fresko’s journey of reinvention, resilience and discovering purpose beyond the identity that once defined him. Produced by Hubwav Media, the motivating documentary explores how losing what you thought was everything can sometimes be exactly what pushes you toward what’s next. For Fresko, that identity was radio.

Long before becoming an award-winning host, entrepreneur and founder of his own media company, Fresko built his career behind the microphone in Los Angeles radio. On Power 106 FM and Cali 93.9 FM, it was a world that gave him a platform, a community and, eventually, an identity that became difficult to separate from the person behind it.

Life After Radio picks up with what came next. Rather than simply looking back at Fresko’s career, the documentary examines the uncertainty of walking away from something familiar and having to redefine success on your own terms. The film follows Fresko as he navigates the transition from radio personality to entrepreneur, producer and creative force behind Hubwav Media — building a new chapter without the security of the platform that first introduced him to Los Angeles.

That journey would eventually take him into television, sports, branded entertainment and independent media, while creating and hosting projects centered around culture, community, music and storytelling.But Life After Radio is less interested in presenting a highlight reel than exploring what happened between those moments.

The documentary pulls back the curtain on the doubt, sacrifice and persistence behind starting over, including the pressure of building something independently and the realization that sometimes the hardest part of reinvention isn't figuring out what comes next — it's letting go of who you thought you were supposed to be.

That idea gives the film a story that extends beyond Fresko's own career.

Fresko's second act ultimately became bigger than finding another microphone.

Through Hubwav Media, he began building the platform himself, producing original programming and branded storytelling while collaborating across entertainment, sports and culture. His work has since earned industry recognition, including multiple Telly Awards, while his role as LAFC's first Music Director has allowed him to merge two constants throughout his career: entertainment and culture.
